How we check menus

Menus are only useful if they're accurate. This page explains where our information comes from and how we keep it honest.

Where menus come from

We use, in order of preference:

  1. Menus sent to us directly by the restaurant.
  2. The restaurant's own website, app or published PDF menu.
  3. A printed menu photographed in the restaurant by our team or a reader, checked against one of the above where possible.

We don't copy menus, photos or descriptions from other menu websites or delivery apps.

Prices and dates

Each menu page shows the date it was last checked. Prices often differ between branches, on delivery apps and at airports, stations or service stations, so we list the standard in-restaurant price where we can and say so on the page.

Calories, allergens and dietary labels

Calories are shown only when the restaurant publishes them. Vegetarian, vegan and halal labels reflect what the restaurant says. We don't publish allergen information, because it changes and must come from the restaurant itself. If you have an allergy, always ask the restaurant before ordering.

Corrections

If you spot a mistake, contact us. We correct errors as quickly as we can and update the checked date when we do.

Independence and advertising

We're not paid to list restaurants, and adverts don't influence what appears on a menu page. Ads are shown by Google AdSense and are kept visually separate from menu content.
